Noise barriers for roads & motorways

Our highly absorbent aluminium noise barriers are located where traffic noise has a lasting impact: on motorways, busy roads and bridges.

Thanks to their professional design, they ensure that the environment and neighbouring areas are protected from excessive noise pollution. We will be happy to advise you on your road construction project!

Why noise protection on roads & motorways is important

The Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and the Traffic Noise Protection Ordinance (16th BImSchV) stipulate fixed noise protection regulations for the construction and modification of roads and motorways. A distinction is made between two time zones (day & night) and four area categories (commercial area, core / village / mixed area, general residential area, hospital / school / convalescent home / retirement home).

Depending on the category, maximum decibel values are prescribed which your street may not exceed. Noise barriers are a suitable measure for reducing the noise level.

The effect of noise barriers on motorways

No sound insulation

Noise barriers have a noise-shielding effect. If they are erected close to a noise source, they prevent the sound from spreading to the environment and residential areas behind them. As a result, noise reductions of up to 20 decibels are possible.

With sound insulation

The actual effectiveness of a noise barrier depends on various factors such as the height, the structure, the noise source and the distance to it. Overall, noise barriers are an effective means of protecting neighbouring regions from traffic noise.

Materials

We manufacture our noise barriers from aluminium and optionally acrylic glass. You have the design in your hands and can decide whether transparent noise protection elements provide a view of the surroundings or whether the road is completely shielded by noise protection cassettes.

We also offer various design options to ensure that the sound insulation blends in with the surroundings in the best possible way. Thanks to our in-house production, we can always offer you the highest quality. We will be happy to help you choose between aluminium frame systems with transparent materials and highly absorbent noise protection cassettes!
